How to Book A Class

There are three easy steps to booking your first class:

1. Login here or register your details here to create an account

2. Purchase class credits here

3. Reserve your bike here

*Our schedule comes out on a weekly basis. Every Friday between 5:45pm-6:00pm we release the class schedule for the following week. So, you can book your classes for the upcoming Monday through to Sunday.

Booking For Your Guest

In addition to booking a bike for yourself, our system allows you to book up to two guest bikes per user. Which means for any one class, you can reserve up to 3 bikes (each bike booked will deduct one credit from your account).

Here’s how you can book guest bikes:

1. Log in to your account

2. In order to book a guest bike, you need to have enough credits in your account

3. Go to the ‘Book A Class’ tab and select a class you’d like to join

4. Once you’re in the studio view page, select a bike for yourself first. Your selected bike will be highlighted in taupe color

5. At the bottom of the studio view page, select ‘Your Guest’s Bike’ which is highlighted in blue

6. Once you have selected ‘Your Guest Bike’, you may proceed with choosing a bike for your guest(s)

7. Click ‘Confirm Your Bikes’ once you are done and proceed to checkout

First Time Riders

Aloha Cycle Club is for everybody, no matter your age or fitness level (our oldest riders are in their 70s, and we have teenage riders who frequent the studio)! We are proud to have a wide range of people attend our classes, from indoor cycling enthusiasts, to newbies who want to add fitness into their lives, to people who exercise regularly.

If this is your first time at Aloha, please let us know! We are more than happy to help you set up your bike and answer any questions you have about your upcoming class (it’s what we are here for!). For all newbies (as well as our regulars), we encourage you to focus on yourself and not compare yourself to other riders. It’s important to listen to your body, and do as much as you can without over straining yourself. Your safety comes first. Feel free to sit down and catch your breath during a class, or even step out if you feel the need to — and as always, your instructor or any member of the Aloha staff are here to assist you. We cannot stress enough the importance of hydrating before, during and after class, and making sure your body has been fueled before and after your workout (though we recommend giving yourself at least an hour to digest your last meal before your ride!).

If you have any injuries, health concerns, or medical restrictions, it’s recommended you consult a doctor before riding at Aloha. Riders under the age of 18 years old need to have the health and safety waiver form signed by a guardian, and while we don’t have a minimum age to ride at Aloha, you must be tall enough to safely ride our bikes (generally, our bikes will fit those who are at least 4'11", but the exact minimum height depends on the individual’s leg and torso length).

Aloha Etiquette

This section is all about consideration for others. Here are some general do's and don'ts when you ride at Aloha:

Do:

  • Show up on time, Aloha classes start on the dot
  • Re-set your bike settings after you ride (resistance off, seat and handlebar raised to the max height)
  • Control your body odor. A little awkward to mention…but we do have a small studio so it’s important that we get that b.o. under control
  • Have fun!

Don’t:

  • Bring your mobile phone into class to text, Snapchat, Facebook live or chat (airplane mode please!)
  • Chit chat with your neighbor during class. Don’t worry, our studio is connected to Rubberduck, a great place for you to catch up with friends after class
  • Leave your trash lying around for someone else to clean up

Arrival Time

  • Classes start on time. We suggest arriving 15-20 minutes before your class starts to get your cycling shoes, put your belongings in a locker, and set up your bike. Please check in to your class with our receptionist at least 5 minutes before class time. If not, we reserve the right to release your bike to walk-ins or the next person on the waitlist. Please note our cancellation policy.
  • For riders running late: Please call the studio to let us know you are on the way! We will hold your bike for up to 5 minutes after class begins, though we can't guarantee you'll get the exact bike you signed up for. We reserve the right not to let riders who arrive more than 5 minutes late to enter the studio.

Cancellation Policy

We have an 8 hour cancellation policy. We will return your class credit if a cancellation is made 8 hours or more before your scheduled class time. Once your bike is cancelled, the credit will be returned to your account to be used at a future date. If you cancel your bike less than 8 hours before your scheduled class time, your credit will not be returned.

*To cancel your booking, simply log into your account page. Under the "My Booked Classes" section, click "cancel" next to the class for which you would like to cancel.

Waitlist Policy

If a class you would like to book is full, you may sign-up for the waitlist and a credit will be deducted from your account. You must have a class credit in order to register for the waitlist, but the credit will be returned to your account if you do not get a place in the class. As bikes open up, riders on the waitlist will be placed in the class in the order by which they signed up.  If a spot opens up within 12 hours before the scheduled class time, you will be automatically added to the class and notified in an email confirmation. If a bike opens up after the 12 hour window, we will call waitlisted riders but will not enroll them automatically without their consent.

*Please note that we assume you want to take every class you are waitlisted for. You may remove yourself from the waitlist by cancelling within the "My Booked Classes" section of your online account page.

Shoes

All riders at Aloha Cycle Club use cleated cycling shoes, which we provide (and clean after every use) at no extra cost. We provide shoes that range between sizes EU35-45. If we don’t carry your particular shoe size, please bring along a pair of sneakers and we will insert toe cages into the pedals so that you can still join our ride!

*Our cycling shoes tend to run small for most riders, meaning we will give you a size larger than you may normally wear

*Interested in a pair of cycling shoes of your own? Aloha has partnered with TIEM to give our riders the opportunity to purchase a pair of our favorite indoor cycling shoes. For more information and to place an order, please complete this ORDER FORM.

What To Bring

  • Water: We sell bottled water. We also provide filtered water. Bring your own bottle, and feel free to fill it up!
  • Towel: Hand/face towels are provided to help wipe your sweat during class. However, please bring your own shower towel. We do provide shower towels for a small rental fee.
  • Socks: Our cycling shoes must be worn with socks! If you forget, we sell socks for RM5.

Setting Up To Ride

If you’re a first time rider, don't fret, we will help you get set up on the bike! Here are some guidelines to get you started:

Your Bike

  • Adjust the height of your seat to where your hip bone is located
  • Use the distance between your elbow and your middle finger as a guide to how far forward your seat should be from your handlebars
  • Adjust the handlebar height to the same level as your seat. Beginner’s and/or those with lower back issues should keep their handlebars higher
  • Use the blue knob behind the handlebar to adjust your resistance level. Right is heavier, left is lighter resistance. You should always ride with resistance!

Your Shoes

  • Push the cleat on the ball of your shoe into the pedal until it locks in (you’ll hear it click!)
  • Clip out by pushing your heel away from the bike

Calories Burned

There’s no exact number here, but we’ve received feedback from riders and instructors with fitness tracker equipment that they have burned anywhere between 300-700 calories in one class. You are the master of your own workout and resistance, so how much you burn is really down to you!

Heart Rate Monitors

Some of our instructors and riders wear fitness trackers/heart rate monitors to track their heart rate during class. Whilst not necessary, some riders (as a personal preference) like to monitor their heart rate during class. They usually know what their heart rate range should be, which is often determined according to your age and sometimes, according to your fitness and state of health. Being able to read your heart rate during class is a great indication of how hard you’re working. And if your heart rate goes up too high, i.e., beyond your recommended heart rate maximum, you know to sit down and take a breath to slow it down.

Amenities

  • Showers/Changing Rooms: We have two showers and changing rooms. So you’re most welcome to shower and change at the studio.
  • Toilets: We have two toilets which we share with our lovely neighbor, Rubberduck.
  • Products: We provide hairdryers in our shower/changing rooms. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.

Private Classes

Private classes are perfect for birthday parties, corporate events, or any excuse really to pool a bunch of friends and family members together. Our private classes can host up to 22 people and are generally booked during times outside of our regular class schedule. We are happy to arrange a private class for you which can be taught by an instructor of your choice (subject to availability). If you’re interested in hosting a private class, try and get in touch at least a week before your desired date so we can better organise it for you. Feel free to provide some song requests! For more information or to make bookings, please email us at info@alohacycleclub.com.

Rubberduck

What do Rubberduck and Aloha Cycle Club have to do with each other? They are best friends! So feel free to grab a coffee, a smoothie bowl, breakfast, lunch, a cheeky cake or healthy treat before (and after) class!
